		<description>Ah well.... the photo and caption might be a little misleading. Mari is reading the pamphlet and translating for me.
My Beginners Level C Japanese class meets three times a week. I can read (slowly) the syllabaries -- hiragana and katakana. And more than few kanji, but far fewer than we&#039;ve studied.... I am a mediocre student so far.
Ask me again next year, then you can be impressed!

		<description>So do you read/speak Japanese now? I&#039;m really very impressed. The hardest language I&#039;ve ever taken was Polish - I didn&#039;t even have to learn a new alphabet, but I never could get the hang of it very well.
